dirp irrigation tape is a type of drip irrigation drainage pipe that was first manufactured in the United States about 50 years ago.
Drip irrigation is polyethylene tape and usually each coil is several hundred meters (1000 to 3000 meters). Unlike hard polyethylene pipe, drip irrigation tape is very soft. In fact, the tip of tape is soft and flexible, which fills when the water enters, and after the end of the irrigation, the tip of tape again becomes flat.
The wall thickness of the tape bar is very thin and usually ranges from 0.1 to 0.6 mm. Thicker type drip irrigation tape are commonly used for subsurface irrigation of various plants.
The water drops through the drill holes on the drip irrigation tape.
The distance between the emitters in the drip irrigation tape side sewing is usually between 10 and 30 cm. The most commonly used in terms of distance between emitters are 20 and 30 cm.
- Easy and fast installation
Convenient rolling due to light weight
Available in most landscapes and landscapes, with low elevation and no need for leveling
Simple and inexpensive connections, with their easy-to-use manually mounted polyethylene type tape
Nutrient-grade polymer prevents algae and mineral deposits from adhering to it
UV Resistance, Fertilizers, Pesticides, Pesticides and Agricultural Sprays
Significant savings in water consumption
Possibility of tractor wideening at the beginning of the crop season
Preventing the development and growth of weeds on agricultural land
drip irrigation tape requires low water pressure (about 1 Atmosphere) to be used
drip irrigation tape applications :
it is used for drip irrigation in row and seasonal crops such as tomato, pepper, potato, strawberry, onion, sunflower, melon, watermelon, sugar beet, corn and other crops. Droplet can also be used in greenhouses.
It can be used in most lands and groves and does not require much water pressure and can be used in lowland and highland farms without the need for land leveling.
It can also be mounted mechanically using a tractor when planting.
It is very suitable for drip irrigation in dense and row crops.
tape are used for drip irrigation of a variety of vegetables, scallops, row crops, forage, etc. such as watermelon, tomato, onion, potato, corn, strawberry and greenhouse crops.
Suitable for drip irrigation on shallow and shallow subsurface. For deep subsurface irrigation, the use of drip pipes is recommended.
1- Do not install the type strip on slopes above 2%
Avoid the installation of type strips on steep slopes (2%) and try to install these types of lands perpendicular to the slope.
Failure to observe this causes the distribution of water throughout the tape to be uneven and secondly, when the network is inactive, inverse suction may occur and clay particles suck into the stomata.
Therefore, if forced to be installed on slopes above 2%, the tip should preferably be mounted on the soil and, if necessary, installed under the soil, air suction equipment must be predicted and installed in the grid.
2. Be aware of contaminants and particle size of water
In the case of waters with physical contamination (suspended particles), it is necessary to design and install an drip irrigation tape filtration station in such a way that particles greater than 100 microns cannot enter the grid.
In cases where water sources have suspended particulates below 100 microns (usually not recommended with conventional filters), sequestration pools or the occasional grid wash with fully purified water are required.
3. Angular forbidden tape
Creating a fracture (angle) along the length of the mounting strip reduces the flow of water.
This is especially the case at the beginning of the line and at the interface between the 16mm tubes or in the repaired tear points, which should be controlled and resolved.
4- Watch out for water pressure
The ideal working pressure for the type bar is 0.6 atm. If the ideal pressure is not met, the discharge of the openings will change from the nominal value.
Minimum operating pressure of 0.4 atm and maximum operating pressure? The atmosphere is for the tape bar . Therefore, the system pressure during the operation season will be around 20 defined.
5. Do not use too hard and salty water
In principle, drip irrigation should not be used on farms that have very harsh and saline waters.
If necessary, thorough water testing should be performed prior to the design and installation, so that no preventive measures can be taken to design the network.
6. Don’t underestimate the water requirement of the plant
In calculating the water requirement for irrigation, if the water requirement of the crop is reduced, the root of the plant will infiltrate the access outlet to the water and cause blockage.
Therefore, the environment around the root must always have sufficient moisture and meet the water requirement of the plant.
7. At the end of the fertilizer and poison injection, do not cut off the water immediately
After the end of the fertilizer and pesticide injection operations, the system will be active for a sufficient period of time until the remaining material is completely discharged by pure water.
8. Sharp objects dangerous type enemy tape
Weed control is recommended for herbicides and weed workers should not use sharp objects for weeding.
9 – Do not leave the type strip at the end of the growing season
At the end of the harvesting period, type strips should be collected from the farm surface to avoid contamination of the farm.
10- At the end of the work do not remove tape from the dry soil
If the strip is installed under the soil, it is best to limit the irrigation to a field to ease the collection of the tape, to soften the soil on semi-damp tape.
Widening the type strip over a short time increases the design cost by increasing the number of connections and increasing the pipe diameter.
Widening the type strip over long periods also reduces irrigation uniformity and ultimately reduces crop yield.
Alternative type irrigation method suitable for conventional irrigation methods
Drip irrigation methods are effective for the agricultural and horticultural sectors and use drip and type irrigation methods in advanced agriculture. Type pipes are of one, two and three year type and can be used in different fields depending on the water conditions of the area and their one year type can be used in fields with poor water supply. In some areas where water losses are more than 50%, type irrigation can be a good alternative to conventional methods.
Based on a comparative design in which about 70 hectares of forage maize fields were irrigated with drip irrigation and 150 hectares irrigated with sprinkler irrigation,
About 5000 cubic meters of tap water has been used in drip irrigation, but in the sprinkler method the water consumption has reached 7,500 cubic meters.
In addition, the amount of dry matter per cubic meter of drip irrigation was 4 kg per cubic meter of water, but in the rain-fed method it was 1.6 kg.
